CAIR-Chicago's Ramadan Outreach: A Month of Increasing Awareness in the Community

As we delve further into the blessed month of Ramadan, CAIR-Chicago has been in full-swing with its outreach efforts to the community. As part of this endeavor, CAIR-Chicago has coordinated short informational updates of its progress during the taraweh (night prayer) gatherings around several Chicagoland mosques. Reflecting our resolve to assist victims of civil discriminations and standing up against inaccuracies in the media concerning Muslims, CAIR-Chicago is implementing its goal through these outreach efforts to increase awareness and recognition of the services we provide as a leading civil rights organization servicing the Chicagoland area.

We realize the importance to make ourselves available to assist our constituents as needed. Our hope is to not only be able to build bridges between the community and ourselves, but also to foster awareness that we exist as a tool for them in their time of need.

Several coordinated outreach events have already taken place including: Mosque Foundation, Islamic Cultural Center of Des Plaines, the Muslim Community Center, Downtown Islamic Center, and Masjid Al-Salaam.

There are still many outreach events scheduled to take place this month, including at: The Mosque Cares in Homewood, Ill., the Islamic Center of Naperville, Masjid Al-Huda in Schaumburg, MECCA in Willowbrook, Illiana Islamic Association in Indiana, Northwest Indiana Islamic Center in Indiana.

We would like to thank those who have supported us throughout our efforts as a chapter of the leading Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization in the country. Our work is not possible without your generous support and constant feedback. We are especially grateful to the mosques and centers that have given us the opportunity to educate the community about our work and to learn from them as well.
