CAIR-Chicago Settles Discrimination Complaint of Muslim CTA Employee

cta trainA Muslim CTA employee contacted CAIR-Chicago for representation after being repeatedly passed up for promotion. The employee has been working for CTA since 1979, yet has seen many newer employees - including some he had trained - promoted above him. He filed charges before contacting CAIR-Chicago in 2007. Rima Kapitan, a volunteer attorney from Amal Law Group, represented the man before the Human Rights Commission of Illinois and was able to negotiate a settlement agreement on his behalf.
