JCUA Presents at CAIR-Chicago

On Thursday June 26, Jewish Council on Urban Affairs (JCUA) came to CAIR-Chicago. Director on Teen Programs, Rebecca Katz, brought together a group of students from Or Tzedek, a Jewish youth leadership program, to present on various topics regarding oppression and discrimination. Three pairs of students introduced topics included voting rights, religious freedom in prisons, and Citizens United. They worked with CAIR-Chicago's government affairs interns to bring awareness to social justice issues.

"This event is an important step in building American Muslim-Jewish relations in Chicago. When minorities come together to discuss matters of social justice, we can create change." Fatima Shareef, outreach intern at CAIR-Chicago said.

The Jewish Council on Urban Affairs fosters Jewish-Muslims relations by challenging systematic oppression.
