(CHICAGO, IL, 10/27/25) – The Chicago office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Chicago), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, condemns the antisemitic attack on Jewish children at a park in Skokie, which police have ruled a hate crime.

“We stand in full solidarity with the victims and the Jewish community in the wake of this disturbing act of hate,” said Ahmed Rehab, Executive Director of CAIR-Chicago. “An attack on children—targeted for their faith—is abhorrent and indefensible. Antisemitism, like all forms of xenophobia and bigotry, must be confronted head-on wherever it appears.”

CAIR-Chicago commends Illinois’ restorative justice approach, particularly when minors are involved, to ensure accountability and meaningful rehabilitation that prevents future harm.

“Whether the victims are Jewish, Muslim, Black, Asian, or of any background, hate has no home in our state,” Rehab added. “Our communities’ safety depends on our shared moral duty to reject hate in all its forms.”

Take Action: Document Hate

CAIR-Chicago continues to advocate for interfaith solidarity and education initiatives that build understanding and resilience against hate-based violence across Illinois communities. Even if law enforcement fails to act, documentation matters. Help us track, expose, and challenge hate in all forms:

CAIR-Chicago’s mission is to defend civil rights, fight bigotry, and promote tolerance
