PRESS STATEMENT: CAIR-Chicago Welcomes Charges for Neo-Nazi Anti-Immigrant, Antisemitic Vandalism

(CHICAGO, IL, 7/29/2025) – The Chicago chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Chicago) today welcomed charges against a man for reportedly spray-painted neo-Nazi anti-immigrant, antisemitic graffiti in Little Village earlier this month.

Police arrested a man accused of defacing multiple properties within the Little Village on July 19 and 20, in the 2700 block of West Cermak and the 2500 block of South Central Park with racist and antisemitic graffiti, including Nazi swastikas and the phrase “Ice Rules.

“We welcome the charges for these hateful acts and thank law enforcement for taking this case seriously,” said CAIR-Chicago Executive Director Ahmed Rehab. “Hate-motivated vandalism can never be tolerated in our state or nation.”

He said CAIR and the American Muslim community stand in solidarity with all those challenging antisemitism, systemic anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.
