Amina Sharif, CAIR-Chicago’s Communications Coordinator, led a cultural awareness seminar on Islam and Muslims at the Tinley Park Police Department on November 30th. The department invited Sharif in light of the growing population of Muslims and Arabs in the area.

Come and join other Americans of conscience in opposing the provisions of the National Defense Authorization Act of 2012 which will allow indefinite detentions without a trial. Call on President Obama to veto NDAA 2012 if it contains these unconstitutional provisions.

“It’s a stupid decision morally and a stupid decision economically,” said Ahmed Rehab, executive director of the Council on Islamic-American Relations Chicago. “They need to acknowledge their error and that they got duped by right-wing bigots, apologize and resume their ads.”

"It's one thing for bigots and nuts to be bigots and nuts. It's another thing for a mainstream company to embrace that. This is the mainstreaming of bigotry," said Ahmed Rehab, Executive Director of CAIR-Chicago.
