Two Muslims Receive Naturalization After Lengthy Delay

A Muslim couple who had both been delayed in obtaining citizenship was naturalized in federal court. The couple both passed the interview for citizenship in 2003 and had been waiting due to pending background checks ever since. CAIR-Chicago had filed a complaint in district court on the couple's behalf. As a result, their cases were expedited and approved by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

CAIR-Chicago congratulates the couple on their new citizenship.
