Deputy Director Sufyan Sohel spoke Wednesday, November 18th on combatting anti-Blackness within our faith communities. The panel, convened by Talem Consulting, including Chicago based attorney and activist, Karyn Bass Ehler and Reverend Dr. Russel Meyer, Executive Director of the Florida Council of Churches.

The three leaders spoke about the racism and anti-Blackness they’ve witnessed in their own faith and cultural communities and shared strategies and ideas on how to address cultural biases, navigate difficult conversations, and be a stronger ally to Black and other vulnerable communities.

“I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to take part in this conversation. Unfortunately, anti-Blackness is very real in our communities. We not only have to identify it, but take proactive measures to combat it,” said Sohel.
