URDU TIMES: CAIR-Chicago Issues statement on Kansas Shooting
URDU TIMES: Ahmed Rehab, Executive Director of CAIR's Chicago issued a statement Thursday regarding the shooting at a Kansas Jewish Center.
“Sad to note yet another senseless act of violent hate against our faith communities, this time a Jewish center in Kansas; 3 killed. Whether Sikhs, Muslims, Jews or anyone, such attacks must be seen as against us all, rather than just the targeted group. Hate hurts us all and we can only weed it out as one front.”
CAIR-National issued the following press release:
(WASHINGTON, D.C., 4/13/12) -- The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation's largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, said today that American Muslims stand in solidarity with the Jewish community after a man who reportedly shouted "Heil Hitler" opened fire at a Jewish community center and an old-age home in Overland Park, Kan.
"American Muslims join their fellow citizens in standing in solidarity with the American Jewish community in condemning this deadly hate attack and in offering condolences to the loved ones of those killed and injured. We are saddened by this vicious act of hatred. Americans of all faiths must join together to reject the kind of extremist ideologies that can lead to such inexcusable and unconscionable acts."
CAIR is America's largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization. Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.
