We are excited to announce that CAIR-Chicago’s own Deputy Director Sufyan Sohel has been named one of Chicago Scholars 35 Under 35 Leaders Making an Impact!

The 35 under 35 Awards were created in 2015 to recognize diverse, talented young professionals making an impact on Chicago’s community. It has grown into a highly selective award recognizing Chicago’s top young leaders. Chicago Scholars will highlight Sufyan and 34 other Chicago leaders' professional and philanthropic accomplishments at the 4th Annual UnTied Gala, a college-themed, urban-chic anti-gala to be held on April 27, 2018. At this event, hundreds of Chicago’s business professionals and young leaders will gather to support Chicago’s diverse talent pipeline and recognize the 35 under 35.

"My vision for Chicago is that it truly becomes a city that is welcome and inclusive to all the different communities that call it home," Sufyan explained. "I plan on continuing to work with different community groups and government agencies to ensure that all voices are heard and represented and that even the most marginalized of us can feel safe and have a say in the future of our city."

Chicago Scholars envisions a vibrant Chicago powered by diverse leaders from every neighborhood. They uniquely select, train, and mentor academically ambitious students from under-resourced communities to complete college and become the next generation of leaders who will transform their neighborhoods and our city. Through college counseling, mentoring, and by providing a supportive community to our Scholars through each phase of their 3-tier program, Chicago Scholars ensures that these promising students realize their full potential as students and leaders.

The Chicago Scholars 4th Annual UnTied Gala will be April 27, 2018, tickets are available for purchase here.
