CHICAGO, IL, (6/17/2025) – The Chicago office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Chicago), along with human rights attorney Farah Chalisa and community partners, will hold a press conference to demand hate crime charges and justice after a violent attack targeting a Palestinian-Mexican mural and its defenders.

Multiple victims were physically assaulted by an individual who, according to community complaints, has a documented pattern of harassment in Pilsen—a Chicago neighborhood known for its rich Mexican-American and immigrant ties. CAIR-Chicago is calling for hate crime and battery charges and is pursuing legal recourse alongside Attorney Chalisa.
