The Chicago office of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR-Chicago) said today that their thoughts and prayers are with the Sikh community following a deadly shooting attack targeting members of a Sikh house of worship early Sunday morning in Wisconsin.

Milwaukee's first Arab-American police officer, arrested and later released in August after he was accused of saying he wanted to shoot up the district where he worked, has filed complaints saying he faced harassment following the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

The Chicago chapter of the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy group, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Chicago), in conjunction with the Law Offices of Robert M. Mihelich, will hold a press conference to discuss a complaint filed by a Muslim police officer for race, religious and national origin discrimination against the Milwaukee Police Department.
