United Sikhs joins elected officials to commemorate Illinois House Resolution 1193
On Sunday, December 16th, UNITED SIKHS joined the South Asian and Sikh community at Palatine Gurdwara to commemorate the passing of House Resolution 1193 (HR 1193).
CAIR-Chicago joins South Asian, Sikh groups to recognize state anti-hate resolution
(CHICAGO, IL, 12/15/12) – The Chicago office of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR-Chicago) commends the Illinois House of Representatives for adopting House Resolution 1193 (HR 1193), which addresses violent attacks on Muslim, South Asian, and Sikh Americans, as well as other minorities, and denounces hate crimes and hateful political rhetoric.
Packed room at public viewing of Senate hate crimes hearing
CAIR-Chicago hosted a public viewing today of a Senate hearing entitled “Hate Crimes and the Threat of Domestic Extremism”, which was chaired by Illinois Senator Dick Durbin.
