CAIR-Chicago, along with a diverse coalition of over 30 organizations, is calling on area residents concerned about the humanitarian welfare of innocent civilians in Gaza to attend a mass rally to protest Israel's attacks.

On Thursday, July 20th 2006, the Chicago Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Chicago) will hold a news conference with members of the local Muslim and Arab-American communities who have relatives under attack in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.

The Chicago Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Chicago) released the following statement in response to the current escalations in the Middle East: “The whole world is watching, with total dismay and shock, the barbaric destruction of Lebanon by Israel. It is a shame as well a crime that such destruction is happening with the political and financial support of our government.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) today called on President Bush to demand that Israel stop bombing civilian areas in Lebanon at least long enough to safely evacuate some 25,000 U.S. citizens in that nation.
