CAIR-Chicago Government Affairs Coordinator Reema Ahmad will be speaking on a panel at a workshop titled "Public Policy and Governance" at the Community Builders Chicago 4th Annual Convention on Memorial Day. The theme of this year's convention is "The Evolving Role of Mosques in America," with workshops focusing on empowering the Muslim community and networking within the larger society.

CAIR-Chicago will host Elderhostel's Days of Discovery "Bridge To Islam" program, on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 and Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at the Orland Park Prayer Center. Elderhostel is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing extraordinary learning adventures for people 55 and over.

CAIR-Chicago Communications Coordinator, Amina Sharif, will be giving a presentation at a DePaul University class entitled "Multiculturalism and Democracy: Middle East Communities in the United States." The course focuses on issues of political socialization and identity.

Gerald Hankerson, Outreach Coordinator, was invited by United Muslims Moving Ahead (UMMA) of DePaul University to speak at its "Islam Awareness Week" discussion panel of individuals to discuss their personal experiences and why they choose Islam as their religion.

CAIR-Chicago has teamed up with the Muslim Womens' Alliance and the Inner-city Muslim Action Network (IMAN) to participate in the 2009 March for Babies walk.
