On March 12, 2015, Palestinian American community organizer and women's leader Rasmea Odeh was sentenced to 18 months in prison after an unjust conviction last November, but she is challenging that conviction, and her many supporters have helped her remain free on bond, pending the outcome of her appeal. She is back home to her community in Chicago, and back to her work with the Arab Women's Committee.

CAIR-Chicago's Executive Director Ahmed Rehab spoke to students at the University of Illinois at Chicago on Wednesday, March 4th. Rehab spoke about ISIS and the difficulties surrounding the issues of Islamophobia and bigotry in the United States today.

On February 11, CAIR-Chicago Executive Director Ahmed Rehab was a panelist for an event hosted at Purdue University. Approximately 400 people were in attendance to see Rehab discuss the threat ISIS, along with Professor of Islamic Studies Scott Alexander, and author, attorney, and political philosopher Rafia Zakaria.

Through an examination of the similarities between the WWII incarceration experience of Japanese Americans and the post-9/11 experience of the Muslim Americans, Bridging Communities builds solidarity between these two communities.

CAIR-Chicago held a press conference Friday to address recent hate incidents targeting Illinois Muslims. Incidents included threats to kill Arab-American Muslim high school students, a threat sent to mosque, and a threatening call to CAIR-Chicago.
