Since its founding in 2005, the Council of American-Islamic Relations Chicago (CAIR-Chicago) has worked to protect and promote the civil rights and liberties of Muslim Americans while also fostering important cultural exchange. Over the past 17 years, CAIR-Chicago has handled over 5,000 civil rights complaints, educated and empowered the Muslim community, graduated over 900 interns, coordinated interfaith and intercultural initiatives, led workshops, and hosted international delegations from every continent.
