WHY GIVE?

FOR 16 YEARS, CAIR-CHICAGO HAS MADE DIFFERENCE AT LEGISLATIVE, MEDIA, AND GRASSROOTS LEVELS.

CAIR-Chicago uses your generous donations to defend civil rights, fight bigotry and promote tolerance for Muslims throughout Illinois! As the only Muslim civil rights non-profit in Chicago, we are 100% community funded and depend on your support. This Ramadan, we cannot be at most Masajid where we typically raise 55% of our annual budget. We count on you at home if we are to survive this year. We need to raise $300,000. We simply cannot go on without your support. Help us to continue #servingupjustice and keep our doors open! Please Donate your Zakat/Sadaqa today!

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:

“The believer’s shade on the Day of Resurrection will be their charity,” (Hadith, Tirmidhi).

[+]

Our legacy and mission is seeded in fighting injustice and bigotry throughout the country. We ensure your children, friends, and family never face any misdeeds without repercussions, guaranteeing a safer tomorrow. But we can't help the next generation without your help.

RAMADAN 21st: WHY WE SUPPORT CAIR-CHICAGO

In the second of the holy last ten days of Ramadan, will you support standing up against hate and bigotry?

RAMADAN 17th: COVID-19 TRIED TO STOP US

The COVID-19 pandemic relegated us all to our homes for over a year. For our Outreach Department, that proved difficult. How were we supposed to hold our events when we had to shelter in place? We harnessed the power of technology. Since Summer 2020, we've hosted numerous organizations and individuals through the webinar format to ensure our community got the education and engagement it expects from CAIR-Chicago.

[+]

Watch the video above for more info. We have pioneered with our partners the largest bystander training program to educate people on how to behave when confronted with bigotry and hate crimes, running multiple sessions a week.

RAMADAN 15th: ONE STEP AT A TIME

We fight bigotry one step at a time. Our consistent activism helped repeal discriminatory policies within Illinois and across the country, held the government accountable, and pushes the courts to serve justice.

Will you help us fight on & win more?

[+]

Our cases range from racial profiling, harassment and bullying in schools and workplaces, citizenship delays, police misconduct, prisoners’ rights, and workplace discrimination.

We are committed to upholding equality and combating discrimination of all forms through negotiation, litigation, education and awareness. We also meet regularly with community partners and government agencies & leaders to advocate against hate and discrimination in our workplaces, schools, and communities.

RAMADAN 13th: IT'S A NO BRAINER

It is the policy of CAIR-Chicago to view the diverse Muslim population as one community with shared values, common challenges, and one future. In order to achieve the goal of efficiency, we shall work with other organizations that do similar work so that we can maximize our breadth of scope and productivity. Our partnerships are not limited to Muslim organizations and institutions.

[+]

The American Muslim identity is a unique and integral part of the whole that is America. We wish to identify universal values and common goals that are shared between our community and other communities and forge mutually beneficial partnerships. What the video above to learn what our partners have to say.

RAMADAN 11th: SHE FACED HARASSMENT FROM AN ELECTED OFFICIAL

Dima Ali used her voice after she saw bigotry online. Then, an Illinois elected official started to harass her. That's when CAIR-Chicago stepped in and ensured she got the justice she deserved

[+]

Watch the above video and join Dima in a reflection of her experience with CAIR-Chicago's civil rights team.

RAMADAN 9th: THE AFTERSHOCK OF THE MUSLIM BAN

Muslim-Americans faced discrimination with former President Trump's Muslim Ban in 2017. After 4 years of fighting, including launching TAP, the Ban was repealed by President Joe Biden. Watch the above video to learn how we advocated for the end of the Muslim Ban.

[+]

Advocacy and defense work when we are united. Having said this, learn why families are still at risk and why CAIR-Chicago is pushing for the passing of the NOBAN Act. If the #NOBANAct passes, future presidents will be unable to issue immigration bans that target specific groups

RAMADAN 7th: OUR INTERNS SHARE THEIR VOICES

From day one, CAIR-Chicago has worked hard to offer a welcoming and empowering professional Muslim space to our young talents that many of us did not have growing up. The result is an award-winning diverse internship program that sets the standard state-wide and beyond.

[+]

It’s on every community to understand a better future is best forged by building its future leaders TODAY, and that starts with securing self-belief and confidence in our youth.

RAMADAN 5th: FREE LEGAL SERVICES SAVE MILLIONS

Our 100% free legal services for those facing anti-Muslim discrimination save millions for our community.

[+]

We’ve litigated 6,100+ cases ranging from housing, employment to travel and law enforcement. Since 2015, we've taken on almost 100 anti-Muslim hate crime cases.

Read the report here.

RAMADAN 3rd: LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL

We work full force to defend your civil rights and ensure justice is served for every Muslim.

[+]

CAIR-Chicago is the first line of defense for those who face discrimination for their Muslim way of life. Whether it's extreme Zionists or anti-Muslim Hindutva, we're there fighting to make sure bigotry doesn't win.

Please look above for a brief message from our Executive Director, Ahmed Rehab, as he recaps a year in pandemic and how your donations can help us reach the light at the end of the tunnel.

RAMADAN 1st: WHAT ARE YOU SERVING UP THIS RAMADAN?

We miss seeing all the blessed faces during Jumuah and Iftar and Tarawih!

[+]

We know how challenging it can be when you're cooped up in home all day. We, too, miss seeing all the blessed faces during Jumuah and Iftar and Tarawih!

We don't want to lose the sense of community that makes us all so strong as Muslim-Americans. So, we put together a fun little video to share how we, at CAIR-Chicago, are committed to #servingupjustice this Ramadan, and every day, as the primary dish on our menu (watch above).
