As a revolutionary thinker, a fierce advocate for human dignity, and a devout Muslim, Malcolm X's journey from Malcolm Little to a global symbol of resistance embodies the transformative power of faith, truth, and justice.

At CAIR-Chicago, Malcolm X's legacy is not merely a historical reference but a living inspiration that informs our mission and daily work.

His transformation from Malcolm Little to El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz exemplifies the power of faith, education, and resilience in the face of systemic oppression. Like Malcolm, we believe in the necessity of speaking truth to power and in the transformative potential of community-led advocacy.

CAIR-Chicago’s Executive Director, Ahmed Rehab, has often drawn upon Malcolm X's teachings in his public addresses and community engagement. Rehab's leadership reflects Malcolm's insistence on dignity and justice, particularly in challenging Islamophobia, racial profiling, and other forms of institutional discrimination.
