In his complaint, the man alleges he had been a victim of discrimination based on his religion and national origin, and was retaliated against after having complained of the discrimination. CAIR-Chicago will continue to represent the man in his claims of employment discrimination.

CAIR-Chicago Law Clerk Mani Mostofi represented a Muslim man at his recent status hearing for an employment discrimination complaint. The parties have settled the case and the man has been reinstated to his position. Mostofi asked the court to dismiss the complaint as a result of the settlement.

CAIR-Chicago led a media training seminar this week entitled "Telling Our Story," designed for communications professionals, community advocates, faith leaders, and spokespersons. The seminar focused on the mainstream media and how it relates to Islam in America. The seminar also presented practical tips on how to communicate with the media effectively and produce stories that relate to American Muslims.

CAIR-Chicago recently co-sponsored its fourth blood drive alongside the Compassionate Network and the Inner City Muslim Network.

CAIR-Chicago PILI Fellow Munsoor Hussain filed a denial of a naturalization application after a Muslim man was denied citizenship for failing to appear at an update interview.

CAIR-Chicago PILI Fellow Elisa Jillson represented a man at an appointment with United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to inquire about an appeal the man had filed to the denial of his naturalization application. Jillson was told that the man’s file was not at the local office. CAIR-Chicago will continue to advocate on his behalf to seek out a determination on his appeal.
